The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: I graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with my Master's Degree in Nursing in May 2008 as an Advanced Practice Gerontological Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), where I also worked as a Gerontological Research Assistant for two years, and passed my ANCC National Boards Certification Examination in December 2008. Because of these credentials, I am currently hired by Alliance Impairment Management to create & develop a brand new division for this Company: ALLIANCE CARE MANAGEMENT (ACM)which now offers unique and unparalleled geriatric & long term care case management services for Central Pennsylvania. We are the first and only Advanced Practice, Board-Certified, CNS-led geriatric & long term care case management Company in the region. I am an active member of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Beta Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses, and a Hartford Scholar. I am an Advisory Council member for Huntingdon County, and have been chosen as one of Pennsylvania Business Central's Top 100 People for 2006. I was awarded a plaque in 2006 by National Healing Corporation for Operations Excellence as the Clinical Director of the Wound Healing Center at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, a position which I held for almost seven years before being promoted to Regional Director of Operations & Clinical Services in the Northeast. |
